After two plus years of building there is a new design which I have brought into reality in 2011.
This  Ol Yeller ” Gen 2 ” drywasher is the result of some very painstaking effort.  I have refined the overall  original design.
New changes include the bellows system, rear leg height,  riffles,  riffle tray angle,  hopper angle, and also a set of  “wings”  deflectors mounted on the hopper to allow shovelfulls of material to be tossed from a distance and directed straight into the hopper. The latest power consumption test produced 2  days of drywashing off a well used 12 volt auto battery before a charging was needed.
These new Gen 2 models are still made with premium poplar wood framing,  powder coated aluminum trim,  heavy sheetmetal tailpan,  packcloth bellows,  heavyduty hopper which holds five plus gallons,   12 volt on/off switch,  battery lead cables and clamps,  and a new  level gauge mounted on the front leg.  The heart of the unit remains the heavy duty 3.5 amp gearmotor which clocks 150 beats per minute.  I’ll be adding more details to this shortly including dimensions and prices.  Heres a few pics of a test run on the first few of these Gen 2′s  I have custom built for customers this month.
